Weigela florida 'Verweig8' is commonly referred to as My Monet® Purple Effect™ Weigela. This Proven Winners® Color Choice® My Monet® selection features a compact habit with better adaptability and more flowers than the original My Monet® weigela. It features variegated cream and mint green foliage that takes on purple tones compared to the pink tones of other varieties. It has deep pinkish purple flowers in late spring that attract bees, butterflies and other beneficial pollinators.
My Monet Purple Effect® thrives in full to partial sun in evenly moist, well-draining soils. It is more shade tolerant than other weigela.
